Defining EU Energy Security

My wish with this post is to create a think-tank on EU Energy Security.

Let us create a list of factors that have influence on the EU Energy Security.

All of you are invited to share their oppinion, make coments, discus and expand the list.

Let me start:

  1. Physical availability;
  2. Climate Change;
  3. Price of oil;
  4. Renewable Energy Sources;
  5. Development of technology;
  6. Energy Efficiency;
  7. Cooperation with the developed countries;
  8. Cooperation with the low-developed countries;
  9. Electricity – Smart Grid; Generation;
  10. Cooperation with the Oil and Gas producing countries;
  11. LNG technology development as an attempt to create global market for Natural Gas and global natural gas pricing;
  12. Terrorism – vulnerability through the whole supply chain;
  13. Transportation – alternative fuel?
  14. Oil
  15. EU Common Energy Policy?
  16. Natural Gas:
  • Long term contracts with the natural gas producing countries
  • Gas transportation networks within and to the EU
  • Cooperation with the transit countries
  • Natural gas storage
  • Common market
